Teaching
I love teaching adults and I love paper crafts. I am SO lucky to combine these passions to teach paper crafts to adults!
I believe that everyone can learn and everyone is creative. When I teach I try to help you express your creativity so that you can grow, learn, heal, communicate - move in all the directions you want to move. It's a personal process in which I must learn about you so that you and I can work together productively. It's very exciting, stimulating, often surprising, and always rewarding.
I teach scrapbooking at our local community college, Wake Technical Community College in Wake county, North Carolina and in our local public school adult evening program.
The community college scrapbooking classes are a combination of theory and practice (www.http://waketech.edu). These classes provide a solid foundation on how to approach creating and developing a traditional paper scrapbook. We cover design theory, color theory, and approaches to layouts. We design titles and work on approaches to journaling. We also do some work with techniques, including using manual and electronic die cutting machines, rubber stamps and other embellishments. There is always time to work on your pages at every session.
I teach pocket scrapbooking at the public school adult evening program in Wake County, NC (http://www.WCPSS.net/adult-edu), as well as other topics specific to the season and students' requests. These classes are a series of stand-alone single sessions focusing on the questions, projects and learning goals students bring to the class.
In addition to these organized classes, courses and workshops, I really enjoy setting up something specific for you and your friends and family. I am glad to create a class or a series of classes that will meet your specific learning goals and needs. Please contact me to discuss this possibility.
